The studio also has wonderful firing facilities: a gas reduction kiln, an electric kiln, and raku kiln, and a pit for firing.

Clay classes include open studio time as well as instruction time. Material fees cover your first bag of clay, glazes, and firings. Open Studio is for current students only. Each session offers ample open studio time on the weekday and weekends. Times change depending on class schedule.

Workshop: Town and Country
Instructor: John Brickels
Materials Included, Member $100, Non-Member $110
John Brickels will demonstrate how to create wall mounted buildings and barns using slab and extruded clay. John is an internationally collected and celebrated artist and students will learn how to use his signature mocha colored clay and will explore hand-building techniques that investigate the many wonderful qualities of clay and discuss successful design ideas. From country barn to city row house, you will end the day with an architectural themed sculpture that after firing you will be able to hang proudly on the wall.

Cancellation Policy

All classes must be paid for one week before the beginning of class. Refunds are given one week prior to class, 20% is non-refundable. No refunds for classes you miss during a session. We will not prorate the cost of a class for classes missed. For workshops, you must cancel one week prior to class for a refund (minus the 20%). A full refund will be given if we cancel a class due to low enrollment.

Winter Cancellation Policy: We follow the Shelburne Community School closing for adult day and after school classes, and office closing  CLICK HERE for up-to-date info.  If you are enrolled in an evening adult class or weekend workshop your instructor or a staff member will be in touch.  We will also post on our Facebook page.
