Staff Position: Interdisciplinary Lead Teacher
Description: The Shelburne Craft School is in search of an instructor who can teach all ages (kids-Adults, 6-100) in a diverse range of fine craft including, metalsmithing, stained glass, clay hand building, and mixed media. Must be able to engage and support classrooms with a maximum of 8 students. Looking for an organized, self-directed individual who is looking for a long term professional engagement at a traditional craft school.
– BA or MFA in Visual Arts and/or Education or similar field of expertise, or 5 years’ experience in education setting
– Knowledge of contemporary craft in clay, metals, glass, and visual art
– Must be able to work Saturdays and some weekday evenings and weekday afterschool hours
– Flexible schedule
– Reliable transportation
– Must be able to lift 50lbs
– Basic computer skills
– Available for Summer Camps
– Excellent Communication Skills
– Ability to multitask and prioritize job tasks
– 10-15 hours per week
– Saturdays
– Afterschool hours 3:30-5:30
– Evening Hours 6:00-8:00
– Events and Fundraisers
Compensation based on experience. Will include full use of our Metals and Stained Glass Facilities.
